University College Dublin invites final year secondary school students, mature students, their families, and guidance counsellors to the UCD Open Day taking place on Saturday, 14 November 2020.  One of the best ways to experience UCD life is to come to our Open Day. You will be able to gain a real insight into the student experience and life at UCD.

To see what to expect on Open Day see below. The UCD Open Day takes place on the Belfield campus, located approximately 4km south of Dublin City Centre.

Open from 10am the central exhibition in O’Reilly Hall will give you the opportunity to ask questions on a one to one basis.

There are over 130 talks taking place in 6 locations around campus.

Tours of the main Belfield campus will run regularly from O’Reilly Hall. Led by our UCD Student Ambassadors tours last approximately 40 minutes.

The UCD Open Day takes place on the Belfield campus, located approximately 4km south of Dublin City Centre.

TRAVELLING TO UCD

Dublin is served by Dublin International Airport and UCD is approximately a 20 minute drive from the airport.There are frequent connecting buses from the airport to the City Centre.

PARENTS, GUIDANCE COUNSELLORS, TEACHERS & ALUMNI

 

Parents, teachers and UCD Alumni are very welcome to come along to the open day. The Haven is located in the conservatory of O’Reilly Hall and is a place to relax. You can grab a bite to eat in the conservatory café and enjoy the surroundings overlooking the UCD main lake.

Parents: there is a parents talk on ‘Helping your son or daughter make a course choice’.

ACCOMODATION

Dublin is a great city to visit so why not take this opportunity to make the most of your stay and book an overnight trip.

TRANSPORT

Heuston Train Station: the Dublin Bus route 145 from Heuston station serves UCD.

Connolly Train Station: take the DART service southbound to Sydney Parade station, UCD is a short walk from Syndey Parade.

Dublin BusUCD Campus is served by the following bus routes: 46a, 39a, 145 and 17

By Car: UCD has a number of carparks throughout the Belfield campus. Parking on campus is free for the day and parking attendants will be on hand to give directions at all main entrances in to the campus. See Car Parks Map here. (Disabled parking spots are available in all car parks)

Dublin Airport: Aircoach operates a service from Dublin Airport to Leopardstown/Sandyford

UCD Performing Arts SocietiesWe invite you to visit the Student Centre Atrium for a number of musical performances by some of UCD’s Performing Art Societies:

Philosophers Café - 12.30-2.00pmCome and talk philosophy over a cup of tea or coffee. Pop along to the Philosophers’ Café in Cuas, ground floor in the Newman Building. Philosophers from UCD School of Philosophy will discuss topics such as the possibilty of free will, human consciousness and political power in an informal and fun environment.
